Now Live: Changes to Base Initial Margin and Maintenance Margin
Base Initial Margin and Maintenance Margin (Leverage)
The Base Initial Margin and Maintenance Margin requirements for XBTUSDTZ25 and subsequent contracts in the XBTUSD contract series were changed as shown below on 17 Nov 2025 at 04:00 UTC.
These changes will apply to new positions, new orders and any leverage or Risk Limit changes, applied to existing positions or existing orders. The current Margin requirements for our products can be found here.

Impact of changes to Base Initial Margin and Maintenance Margin (for the above contracts):
The increase in Base Initial Margin requirements means that the maximum leverage available for new positions will decrease.
Existing positions will not be immediately affected. However, if an existing position exceeds the new maximum leverage requirements, it will be set to Reduce-Only mode.
