XAUTUSDT and SUIUSDT set to Reduce Only on 31 August

On 31 August 2026 at 08:30 UTC, BitMEX set two contracts, XAUTUSDT and SUIUSDT, to Reduce Only mode.

When Reduce Only mode is set, traders are no longer able to increase the size of their positions, open positions can only be reduced and no new positions cannot be opened.

There is an exception that allows designated market makers to increase their positions so they can continue to provide liquidity.

These contracts will be delisted on 2 September 2026 as part of the closing of the BitMEX exchange.
