#BitcoinToTheMoon Trading Competition
On 8 January 2024, BitMEX is sending Bitcoin to the Moon (literally) – marking Bitcoin as the first financial asset to live in space. You can follow the mission via our Twitter channel here.
To celebrate the initiative, join our biggest Guild trading competition yet where a 100,000 USDT Prize Pool, an Omega Moonwatch, and more are up for grabs as rewards.
What and How Much is in the Prize Pool?
Guild Prize Pool
The Guild Prize Pool will be determined by the total trading volume generated by all Guilds. The Top 10 Guilds will be tallied by PnL (Profit and Loss).
Higher Prize Pools will be unlocked as the Total Volume of all Guilds crosses different milestones. The distribution of the Prize Pool is as follows:

Mega Prizes for the Top 10 Traders
In addition to the Guild Prize Pool, the top 10 traders of the competition will also receive individual prizes according to their ROE (Return on Equity) within the competition period.
The individual prizes will be distributed as follows:
- 1st place: Omega Moonwatch (Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional 42mm, Steel on Steel) + a signed cap from BitMEX Co-Founder Arthur Hayes
- 2nd place: Coinkite BlockClock Mini + a signed cap from Arthur Hayes
- 3rd - 5th place: Omega x Swatch Moonwatch (Bioceramic) + a signed cap from Arthur Hayes
- 6th - 10th place: BitMEX VIP SWAG bags
To qualify for a place in the Top 10, individual traders must reach a minimum of 250,000 USDT in notional trading volume during the competition period.
*All Top 10 individual prize recipients will also receive an original metal memorabilia token, which is the same as the one on board the Peregrine 1 Lunar Lander.
Lucky Draw For New Guild Members
A lucky draw will be held weekly for the duration of the competition for new Guild members. Each week, five winners will be selected.
Winners of each week’s lucky draw will be announced every Tuesday via BitMEX’s official Twitter page. Only those joining a Guild on BitMEX for the first time will qualify for the lucky draw. Such users must join a Guild the week before the winner announcement on Tuesdays.
The weekly lucky draw prizes are as follows:
- Two Omega x Swatch Moonwatch (Bioceramic)
- Three BitMEX VIP SWAG bags
New Guild members will receive one (1) lucky draw ticket for every $20,000 in derivatives trading volume accumulated each week. There is no limit to the number of entries per user for each week.
Those eligible to participate in the lucky draw will receive an email every Monday with the number of lucky draw tickets they have accumulated for that week of the competition period.
When is the Competition Period?
The competition begins on 8 January 2024 at 12:00 UTC and will end on 12 February 2024 at 11:59 UTC.
How Do I Join the Competition?
Users can participate in the #BitcoinToTheMoon trading competition by joining any Guild on the leaderboard here.
What About Existing Guild Traders?
The current format of the weekly Guild Pot will be put on hold for the duration of the #BitcoinToTheMoon trading competition. Those already participating in Guilds will be automatically enrolled in this competition.
The usual format of the weekly Guild competition will be reinstated once the #BitcoinToTheMoon trading competition has concluded on the day the Peregrine 1 Lunar Lander lands on the moon.
General Guild Pot Competition Terms and Conditions:
- The competition is valid only for verified users of BitMEX.
- All participants must be a member or administrator of a Guild.
- All derivative trades of a Guild member count towards the competition if they are closed within the above time frame.
- The Prize Pool rewards will be distributed in USDT (Tether).
- The Prize Pool winners are identified according to the competition leaderboard snapshot towards the end of the competition at 11:59:00 UTC on 12 Feb 2024.
- No corporate entities nor individual users trading via corporate accounts will be permitted to take part in this competition.
- A minimum of 250,000 USDT of total trading volume must be met to be eligible for Top 10 trader prizes.
- Each trader is only allowed to qualify for one raffle ticket in the lucky draw per every $20,000 in total trading volume within a given week. Winners of the lucky draw will be announced every Tuesday on the BitMEX Twitter channel.
- Joining the competition is subject to our Terms of Service, Exchange Rules, Guild terms and FAQs, and any other terms or directions we may provide.
