The past day has been extremely volatile. To help you trade, we’ve introduced a new feature to track liquidations as they hit the book:
To use it, simple click the gear icon next to the Orderbook. Liquidations will then show up in your notifications feed, and if possible, as native notifications in your operating system.
For over a year now, we have deprecated and throttled the /orderBook REST endpoint and ‘orderBook’ and ‘orderBook25’ WebSocket subscriptions. In its place, we have the /orderBookL2 REST endpoint and ‘orderBookL2’ subscription. These rows are keyed by price rather than level which creates much more efficient deltas.
The old orderBook feeds transmit an order of magnitude more data and are less useful.
To preserve fast performance on BitMEX, they will be removed completely.
After Friday, October 6 at 12:00 UTC, the following actions will be taken:
If you use these endpoints or subscriptions, please migrate to the corresponding ‘orderBookL2’ types, which are faster and real-time.
By the terms stated in the B_SEGWIT Series Guide, the B_SEGWITZ17 contract is now eligible for settlement. SegWit was activated on the chain with the largest hash power at block 481,824, and at the time of writing, over 1,512 blocks have passed without a change in that chain’s hash dominance.
Therefore, B_SEGWITZ17 will settle at
100 at 12:00 UTC on Friday, September 8.
We’re back at it! For much of 2017, the BitMEX development team has been focused on new products, reliability, scaling, and building a larger team. With much of that work completed and much well underway, we have begun work anew to improve the website.
The following features landed this month:
Reduce Only. Use this type if you want to ensure an order can only reduce the size of your position.
window.BitMEX. Take a look if you wish to write your own custom notifications or behavior.
As the Bitcoin network is stable, we have processed outstanding withdrawals for the day and deposits have been reverted from 6 confirmations to 1.
Withdrawals will proceed as normal tomorrow at 13:00 UTC.
